Alyssa Skilnick (she/her), a contemporary fine artist based in Alberta, Canada, specializes in various mediums including charcoal, gouache, and oil paint. From a young age she was drawn to the arts, becoming inspired by the European Masters such as Bouguereau and Velázquez. Although being raised surrounded by contemporary abstract art, her passion for the fine arts led her to The Florence Academy of Arts in Jersey City (FAAUS).

Her pursuit of artistic excellence faced an unexpected turn with the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, compelling Skilnick to adapt and continue her studies online. This challenging period resulted in the award of a joint Diploma from Studio Incammanati and FAAUS. The experience not only honed her skills in classical drawing and painting techniques but also deepened her understanding of color theory.

Skilnick's artistic exploration is characterized by her focus on visualizing the emotional psyche through self-portraits, capturing the essence of the landscapes that surround her, and addressing social issues. Notably, she is currently working on a compelling series that sheds light on the neglect of women's reproductive health in the medical field.

Through her diverse and evocative body of work, Alyssa Skilnick invites viewers to dive into the realms of emotion, narrative, and societal critique, all expressed with the techniques she has cultivated through her extensive artistic education and experiences.
